1998 General Safety Spartan Pumper

Up for sale is a 1998 General Safety Spartan pumper, retiring from frontline service now that the department’s new engine has arrived. This truck has been a reliable workhorse with no known mechanical issues. It’s being replaced only because the department has outgrown its size. With roughly 12,000 miles, this engine has plenty of life left. It runs a Cummins 330 hp diesel with an automatic transmission and a Waterous 1,250 GPM top mount pump. The pump was tested and certified this year. The rescue style body has internal ladder and hard suction storage, plus an 8 kW hydraulic generator. Service records are available. This would be a solid fit for a department adding a reserve engine or stepping up to a capable, well-kept pumper on a budget. Note: The electronic odometer display started cutting in and out about a year ago. It last read around 11,000 miles, so 12,000 is the department’s best estimate.
