The Thompsontown (PA) Volunteer Fire Company purchased a 2005 E-ONE Typhoon pumper from the South Plattsburgh Fire Department for $27,000 through Garage, then invested roughly $100,000 in a refurbishment completed in winter 2025. The department showed off its "new to us" Engine 8 — featuring a 1,500-GPM pump and 1,000-gallon water tank — saying the used rig lets them better serve their community at a fraction of the cost of a new engine.
